Uploading Candidates to Classet for Interviews

Overview

CSV upload lets you add a list of candidates to a specific job and have Joy reach out to them as part of an Outreach Campaign. You build the campaign on the Campaigns page, upload a .csv file, review the validation summary, confirm consent, and launch.

Before you start

  • Access. CSV uploads and recruiting campaigns are enabled per organization. If you can't open Campaigns, use the "Request access to CSV uploads & recruiting campaigns" form on that page. Our team reviews each request and follows up by email.

  • An active job. Only published (active) jobs can be selected.

  • An interview script on that job. Joy uses the script assigned to the selected job. If none is assigned, the form shows a warning with an "Add one here" link.

Prepare your file

  • File type: .csv only.

  • Include a First Name and Last Name column (or a single Name column).

  • Include Phone and/or Email. Each row needs at least one.

  • Common header variants are recognized, for example Mobile, Cell, Phone Number, Email Address, Primary Email, Work Email, and numbered headers such as Phone1 or Email 2.

  • Phone numbers must be valid for your organization's allowed regions (the default is US, PR and CA).

Limits

  • File size: up to 5 MB.

  • Rows in the file: up to 5,000. Larger files are rejected and need to be split.

  • Candidates per upload: the first 250 valid, non-duplicate candidates are included. The review step tells you if the cap is exceeded.

  • Your organization's interview invite limits also apply. If an upload is larger than, or would use up, your remaining limit, the review step shows a warning. Split the file if needed.

Upload and launch

  1. Go to Campaigns and start a new campaign.

  2. Select the Job Position. Uploading is disabled until you pick one.

  3. Enter a Campaign Title and Description.

  4. Under Target Audience, drag your CSV into the drop zone or click browse.

  5. Check the validation summary (see below). To fix something, re-upload a corrected file.

  6. Tick the consent confirmation. The button stays disabled until you do.

  7. Launch the campaign.

Candidates not Uploading? Check these:

  • Row errors. Each problem is listed by row number: missing name, invalid name, invalid phone, invalid email, or no phone and no email.

  • Duplicates (auto-skipped). Rows that repeat a phone or email earlier in the file, or match a candidate already on this job.

  • Unrecognized column warning. If a column looks like a phone or email but its header wasn't recognized, it was not read. Rename the header (for example to Phone or Email) and re-upload.

  • Several columns for one field. If more than one header maps to the same field, only the last one is used. Remove or rename the others if that's wrong.

  • Campaign cap exceeded. Only the first 250 valid candidates are included.

You must confirm that everyone in the upload has consented to receive communications about employment opportunities from your company, or that you have a legitimate business reason to contact them about the position. This confirmation is required for every upload.

Troubleshooting

  • "CSV file is too large (max 5 MB)" or "CSV has N rows (max 5000)": split the file into smaller files.

  • "Please upload a .csv file": export your spreadsheet as CSV. Other formats aren't accepted.

  • Candidates missing phones or emails after import: check the unrecognized-column warning on the review step, then re-upload with corrected headers.

  • Can't see the Campaigns page or the CSV option: your organization may not have access yet. Submit the access request form.
